a quiet update

Dear gentle readers, I want you to know right now that we're still publishing. We still will be publishing. If you have a subscription, you'll be getting as many issues as are left on your subscription. We're going to come out with an issue before the end of the year. Maybe issue(s) before the end of the year.

Do you want more in the way of dirt and details? My personal blog is at lastmango.blogspot.com.

Classes coming up at Women's Studio Workshop

The first week of the Summer Arts Institute at the Women's Studio Workshop is just ahead-
July 9th will kick off the 2007 season of creative and inspiring educational programming!

Did you forget to register? It might not be too late.
Registration is still available for some of our workshops.

Cross Pollination: Paper & Encaustic, July 9 – July 13
Due to a cancellation, we now have two spots available in this workshop.
It is one of our most popular workshops and tends to fill up fast, so this recent opening might be YOUR lucky shot at getting in. Spend two days in the Women's Studio Workshop's papermaking studio working with cotton, abaca, and flax fibers, and spend two days in the R & F encaustic studio, using your handmade paper as substrates for encaustic experimentation.

Variable Relief, July 9 – 13
Create expressive and complex monoprints with various layers, using collage, stencil and drypoint elements on polystyrene plates, along with extensive plate wiping and ink modifying techniques.

Fields of Blue: Paper, Cloth, and Indigo Dye, July 16 – 20
The workshop will provide you new techniques for various surface patterns and qualities, while also using fibers strong enough to withstand the intensity of indigo vats.

All of our workshops welcome men and women with every level of experience. Intimate class size allows our instructors to offer you valuable insight- whether you are a seasoned artist or your voice and vision is just emerging. Each workshop is an intensive week long adventure in the gorgeous Hudson Valley, in upstate New York. Come spend your summer with us, call and register today!
