New Year

Hello all!

One of our loyal subscribers emailed me today to let me know that there is some concern out there about the future of dog eared magazine. I really want to thank her for letting me know about this! I really had no idea that we weren't addressing people's concerns. I've done my best to email people who contact me directly, but I really do fear that sometimes people's spam filters catch things, and then they think we're being unresponsive. I know it's happened to me- I have my spam filter set at the minimum level, but I'm always catching emails that should have been coming through to me but didn't. It makes me worry about how many I don't catch. If you email me, please use kerrie@dogearedmagazine dot com, That's the best, fastest way to get to me directly. If you have a question about your subscription status, like how many issues you have left, email Scott directly. His email is scott@dogearedmagazine dot com.

I've neglected the web site in favor of trying to get the magazine caught up, so the schedule there is out of date, but after getting this email, I realize that I need to put some work into that today. I apologize too, because I have been sending updates through our Turtle Press email list, and haven't sent an update through the dog eared magazine list for a while. I didn't want to clog people's email boxes, assuming that people were on both lists, but now I realize that this was a mistake, please accept my apologies for that.

We're DEFINITELY still publishing, although we are fallen behind. We're coming out with an issue this month, as soon as our printer can get us on their schedule. We're also working really hard to get caught up, and are hoping to get five (or maybe even six!) issues out this year. I feel really horrible about falling behind. I promise, we would never, ever, disappear like some zines have done. (I too, have a few useless subscription to zines that have disappeared.) Nor would we cut people's subscriptions short because we didn't get four issues out in a year. Each subscription gets four issues. Period. We will not short people because we are behind.

If you hear from anyone who is worried about dog eared, please feel free to forward this post. Or, if there are mutterings you see on any online bulletin boards, you can email me the link, and I'll stop by to reassure people in person.

I really am sorry, folks. I had no idea that there was such concern, and I'm glad to have the chance to address it! I promise I'm working my hardest to get the magazine caught up and mailed out.

Take care,
Kerrie
